HPLC - putting eyes on the prize, all day err day

HPLC

HPLC spectral analysis is critical for identifying mixtures of isomers that may co-elute with similar retention times.

Example: Which is the ‘real Δ10’?

Using 3D spectral rendering, we analyzed multiple market samples claiming to contain Δ10-THC, and found most samples contain mixed isomers of Δ10-THC and Δ6a,10a0-THC. These two positional isomers have nearly identical retention times and are difficult to distinguish using standard HPLC data processing. However, careful interpretation of UV-absorbance can distinguish them.
